This role is in the Equity Modelling Team, which has a high profile with the GEC, Board and institutional investors. It is involved in many strategic decisions the Group makes. Following a number of large acquisitions and growth in the shareholder base over the last 24 months, the Equity Modelling team is growing. The successful applicant will play a key role in matters around the Group’s equity.
The role will include:
- Quarterly reporting to the external investors of key information relating to shares
- Assisting with strategy evaluation by considering the impact of different strategies on the share price
- Designing and implementing share incentive schemes
- Monitoring and agreeing team performance and handling the vesting of share schemes
- Continuous improvement to processes, including implementing new systems
- Significant interaction with GEC, members of the Board and our investors GA, CDPQ and Hg
This role will give an excellent insight into the way the Group builds shareholder value and shares the value creation with its employees.
Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position based in our London office. The role follows a hybrid working pattern, with an expectation of onsite presence 3 days per week.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Support in valuations for HGH's share capital, including modelling group profits, net debt and share capital movements across a range of scenarios
- Support business leaders in creating new share incentive schemes in line with the Group guidance for growth areas of the business (new initiatives, acquired businesses and existing teams)
- Working with other team members on the ongoing monitoring of existing share incentive schemes and their impact on share dilution through review of forecast and actual divisional profitability compared to targets
- Support the vesting process for share incentive schemes including calculation of the final profit and any other performance measures
- Draft Remuneration Committee papers for new share incentive schemes and Board reports on share matters
- Being a key contact for the external investors on matters relating to the Group’s share capital and share incentive schemes and providing reports as appropriate
- Assist in the implementation of new systems to improve the Group’s ability to report on its share capital and incentive schemes, and once implemented, being responsible for the accuracy of data in the system, availability of relevant reports and continuous improvement
- Review and preparation of documentation relating to new and vesting share incentive schemes
- Support other share related matters throughout the annual cycle, such as the internal share market
- Represent Howden credibly inside and outside the Group
Skills and abilities needed to perform the role:
- Ability to communicate clearly as well as persuade and influence others
- Ability to establish effective relationships with individuals across the Group’s geographies and business lines and external advisors
- Well organised individual able to develop and maintain structure in a fast-paced environment
- Tried and tested quantitative and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis
- Ability to provide a balanced view considering the needs of different stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Candidates with knowledge of at least one other language are desirable but not crucial
Knowledge and Experience:
- Prior experience in a role with significant exposure to financial analysis and modelling
- Experience in preparing presentations, supporting projects and applying rules and guidance to specific scenarios
- Experience supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment in order to achieve critical time frames
- Exposure to working with and developing systems would be an advantage
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Group and/or Company policies and procedures, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption
- Follow Group policies and procedures to obtain correct authorisations
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Keep own performance, HR and T&C records up to date and meet the Group and/or Company’s requirements
- Maintain accurate records and take care of correspondence appropriately
Professional Qualifications:
- High quality bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- ACA or equivalent with 5+ years of post-qualification experience
