The predicted salary is between 13.85 - 13.85 £ per hour.
The main purpose of this role is the preparation of vehicles for London hire, inspection of new vehicles to site and general duties in connection with the London Hire Fleet of vehicles. To ensure that all vehicles are thoroughly prepared for ongoing rental in terms of cleanliness, levels, and tyre pressures, paying attention to any pre or post rental damage as part of the quality inspection process.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing vehicles for delivery to customers, ensuring that:
- Correct documentation is available
- Vehicle is in a clean condition (internally and externally)
- Vehicle is checked for any defects
- Check correct safety equipment and seating is installed
- Checking in new vehicles:
- Check that the correct documentation has been supplied with the vehicle
- Check the vehicle complies with the specification shown on the “New Vehicle Acceptance Sheet”
- Checking in and inspecting vehicles being returned from hire
- Ensure all vehicles that are collected or returned by the customers are recorded in the daily diary and documentation is completed, working to set timeframes and targets to ensure vehicles are ready in time for customer collection
- Carry out minor repairs and visual checks:
- Fluid levels
- Tyres
- Clean vehicles as required prior to delivery
- Liaise with visiting contractors, ensuring that they are aware of the site safety rules
- Arrange for defective equipment to be repaired
- Ensure all equipment issued to you is used and maintained in accordance with instructions, Health and Safety rules and regulations
Vehicle Yard
- Carry out regular inspections of the yard and ensure that it is tidied daily, and all debris is removed
- Report any defects or health and safety issues in the vehicle yard to a Manager, completing a site defect report as required
- Carry out daily check of equipment to ensure that it is working correctly, log any defects and arrange for repairs where necessary
- Compile a weekly yard list of vehicles for the Yard Supervisor
