Vehicle Delivery Driver (Zero-Hours)

Description

We are looking for reliable casual vehicle delivery drivers to join the team. To provide a professional driving service delivering and collecting vehicles. You will be required to assist in the preparation and cleaning of vehicles, prior to delivery. Inspecting all the vehicles prior to delivery or collection for any damage or missing items. You will be required to check in at the Head Office in Erith to deliver or collect vehicles nationwide.


Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Assist in the preparation and cleaning of vehicles prior to delivery.
  • 2. Carry out vehicle inspections prior to delivery for damage and/or missing items, record all findings on to the Vehicle Inspection Sheet.
  • 3. Deliver vehicles to customers, garages and other locations in a timely manner as required by the business.
  • 4. Carry out vehicle collections, ensuring that recorded inspection is made for damage or missing items and that a customer signature is obtained to confirm collection.
  • 5. Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and returned to the Rental Office.
  • 6. Enter vehicle movement information into the Rental diary.
  • 7. Ensure that you comply with the regulations governing driver hours and the use of tachographs at all times when using a vehicle fitted with a Tachograph.
  • 8. Where required refuel vehicles before delivery to customers, ensuring that the fuel is suitable for the vehicle.
  • 9. Report all defects found on a vehicle prior to delivery and on collection by completing the vehicle defect report form and verbally informing your immediate Line Manager.
  • 10. Report any incident, occurrence, faulty equipment, etc that may be dangerous or contravene the health and safety regulations and rules, to the Health and Safety Officer.
  • 11. Ensure that, where a vehicle is in your control outside of working hour’s i.e., weekends or evenings, a vehicle check is carried out to ensure roadworthiness, fluid levels are checked, and the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy manner and details of use are recorded in the yard diary.
  • 12. Whilst using a company vehicle during and outside working hours, at any time, comply with road traffic regulations and drive in a safe courteous manner, ensuring no one is put at risk and report all traffic accidents to your immediate Manager.
  • 13. Ensure all equipment issued and maintained in accordance with the instructions and health and safety rules and regulations.
  • 14. Assist other members of staff in the preparation of vehicle for hire, i.e., cleaning.
  • 15. Comply with all instructions or site regulations in regard to health and safety on company premises and on any site/premises where delivery and collections are carried out.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of one year’s driving experience.
  • Must hold a valid category D1 driving licence.
  • Become a real team player by maintaining good working relationships with all members of staff and our clients.
  • Ensure that any company uniform provided is worn at all times, including high visibility jackets/ vests and ID badges. You must ensure that this is kept in a clean, presentable condition.
  • Ensure that duties start punctually by reporting for duty at the specified times and ensure all services run to agreed times.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
