London Hire have been supplying first-class professional accident repairs to fleet customers and individual car and van owners, specialising in accident repairs to cars, light commercials, and accessible buses. Our friendly, professional, and committed team have an abundance of experience that our customer base has come to expect. London Hire is looking for a talented and efficient Panel Beater to work in our onsite Bodyshop. This job role requires an experienced candidate who can provide high-quality vehicle preparation while working in a fast-paced environment to produce a high standard result.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare panels for rework in a correct and safe manner.
  • Repair or replace bodywork panels of damaged vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer approved methods.
  • Install new components and replace any panels through bonding, welding, and soldering.
  • Prepare all vehicles for refinishing to ensure any repairs are unnoticeable.
  • Assess vehicles to establish the extent of damage.
  • Remove damaged panels from associated vehicles.
  • Complete repair work on vehicles using a range of body repairs including but not limited to jig work and welding.
  • Strip and refit damaged panels from vehicles, including interior trim and minor mechanical and/or electrical parts.
  • Fit replacement or repaired panels to associated vehicles.
  • Report defective items not included in the original repair estimate to the Bodyshop Manager.
  • Ensure all material used during repair work is recorded and to manufacturer specification where applicable.
  • Maintain sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and procedures.
  • Support in other areas of the Bodyshop where able to and required.
  • Complete road testing of repaired vehicles.

Desirable Requirements

  • Light Commercial Vehicle, minibus and Light PSV experience is desirable.
  • Fully skilled and experienced with Automotive Technician Accreditation qualifications.

Essential Requirements

  • Continuously working to a high standard to meet customer’s needs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Panel Beater (1 year).
  • Ability to use computer devices and software for day-to-day operation.
  • Clean Driver Licence.
