London Heritage Quarter (LHQ) is a collaborative alliance of four Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) spanning Victoria, Victoria Westminster, Whitehall, and Northbank. Stretching from Belgravia to the Royal Courts of Justice, the Quarter is home to some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square. This area includes the historic processional route through Central London and major transport hubs, serving as a dynamic centre for government, business, world‑class hospitality, and cultural institutions. Our mission is to enhance LHQ as a place to work, visit, and live. We deliver diverse and creative programmes that protect the environment, celebrate our unique heritage, and build strong community connections. Our work is guided by a 5‑year business plan and focuses on placemaking, sustainability, and operational excellence.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Operations to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of the London Heritage Quarter and ensuring it remains a thriving and sustainable hub for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Represent LHQ across all front‑line services, while taking personal responsibility for resolving street‑based issues, problems and concerns within LHQ’s footprint.
  • Oversee day to day operations by ensuring the effective delivery of operational projects and services that enhance the local area for businesses, employees, residents, and visitors, while aligning with LHQ’s strategic goals.
  • Ensure business continuity planning, emergency response coordination, and stakeholder confidence in safety measures.
  • Drive agreed initiatives.
  • Work closely with levy payers, local authorities, and community partners to ensure services meet business needs.
  • Enhance the vibrancy, safety, and cleanliness of our streets—playing a key role in creating a well‑managed, welcoming environment for all.

Requirements

  • Experienced, ideally in a BID, local authority, or place management context.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects, public realm improvements, and service contracts.
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement, working with levy payers, councils, and community partners.
  • Demonstrable expertise in designing, implementing, and optimising workflows to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Experienced in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to support profitability and sustainability.
  • An excellent communicator with strong leadership, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
