Medical Radiation Technologist - Interventional Radiology UH

Reporting to the Coordinator, the Medical Radiation Technologist (IR) helps to coordinate the flow of the angiography rooms, assesses patients, prepares the procedure room, scrubs in to assist the radiologist during procedures, completes the digital filming, PACS, and Cerner, and assists in cleaning and stocking the procedure rooms. The Medical Radiation Technologist-Radiography performs fluoroscopy using ionizing radiation in compliance with the professional standards of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists. The successful candidate will ensure that patient care and comfort are maintained at all times and that protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards due to radiation.

Hours of work: No guarantee of hours
Duration: Up to 12 months
Rate of pay: $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Qualifications

• Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
• Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
• Certificate in Interventional Radiology (preferred)
• Minimum of six (6) months previous experience in Interventional Radiology
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in interventional radiology procedures
• Cerner, AGFA PACS experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
