Medical Imaging is an integrated subspecialty based academic department across London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital and University Hospital committed to providing quality-driven patient care. Our multidisciplinary team integrated by 352 staff, 40 Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians serve clients in Southwestern Ontario, across Canada and internationally with highly specialized imaging in neurology stroke, pediatrics, high risk obstetrical, orthopedic and cardiac imaging. The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography

The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography provides General Radiography services for the Department of Medical Imaging under the supervision of the Coordinator and/or duty Radiologist. In their role they support collaborative, interprofessional, patient centred care and follow the standards of practice of the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of Ontario. The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography values an interprofessional approach and participates in program development and quality improvement initiatives. The Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography is responsible for performing radiological procedures which include the application of prescribed ionizing radiation for the diagnosis of disease as requested by clinical consultants. The Medical Radiation Technologist ensures that radiation protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards due to radiation.

Regular Part-Time

Hours of work: No guarantee of hours

Rate of pay: $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario
• Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists preferred
• Minimum of six (6) months previous work experience in general radiography
• Portables and operating room experience preferred
• Cerner, AGFA PACS experience preferred
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in radiology procedures
• Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
• Demonstrated ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and self-directed learning
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
