London Museum tells the story of the world’s greatest city and its people. We have embarked on an extraordinary journey to create a new museum for London. The museum will sit in atmospheric former market buildings – over 30,000 sqm – at the heart of one of the capital’s most historic and creative quarters, Smithfield. The New Museum project is one of the largest cultural projects in Europe and will transform the museum, Smithfield and the City of London, creating a new cultural quarter for London.
Working as a part of the expanding Estates team, you will be supporting colleagues in the delivery of hard and soft facilities management (FM) services. You will be joining the team during a vital new chapter in the London Museum's history as we move towards the opening of our state-of-the-art Smithfield site.
To succeed in this role you should be organised, effective and proactive. Previous experience of working in a museum is not required, we are looking for someone who has the desire to develop their knowledge of Facilities Management whilst working towards a level 3 apprenticeship.
It’s essential that you’re eligible to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship – this means:
- You have the right to work in England and have lived in the country for a minimum of three years.
- You don’t have relevant experience in a similar type of role or a qualification directly relevant to the subject e.g. Facilities Management, Surveying, or Building Services Engineering.
- You’re not currently enrolled on any other learning programme for the duration of this apprenticeship.
The closing date for applications is Monday 16 February 2026, midnight. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview week commencing 2 March 2026. If you are successfully shortlisted you will be invited to an interview where you will be asked questions to help us understand more about what you share in your application, and in particular to understand how you meet the essential criteria for the role and demonstrate our museum behaviours.
