Job Description Overview
Our work to support Londoners focuses on initiatives that leverage sport and physical activity to address five key priority areas in London:
- Helping the most inactive people become more active
- Improving mental health and wellbeing
- Decreasing isolation and loneliness
- Strengthening community connections locally and across London
- Reducing serious youth violence
This is achieved through investments in sport and physical activity projects that provide accessible, free, or affordable interventions aimed at improving health and wellbeing, notably via our Sport Unites Fund. We also collaborate with other sport and non-sport organizations to scale up initiatives targeting one or more of these priorities.
This sector of work supports community sport organizations in responding to, transitioning from, and recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic\’s adverse effects. Our investments include programs that promote the long-term sustainability of the community sport sector, such as our organisational development programme, which offers training to support the health, growth, workforce, and volunteers of community sport organizations.
