Policy and Commissioning Manager – VAWG Team, Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation
The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London. It is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor, and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver priorities that create safer London communities.
Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 confers new duties on the Mayor of London regarding support for victims and their children in relevant safe accommodation. MOPAC is responsible for delivering this in partnership with the GLA.
The Role
We are offering one full-time permanent position for Policy and Commissioning Manager (Grade 5) .
You will be responsible for developing policy, advising leaders, commissioning services, and building effective relationships with partners to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse and VAWG. This includes supporting the delivery of the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan (PCP) for London, and strategies on VAWG and Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation.
You will lead specific projects and programmes, collaborating with teams across the directorate, statutory partners, the third sector, communities, and other stakeholders across London.
With a focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion, you will design commissioned services that improve outcomes for Londoners, ensuring the needs of minoritised communities are addressed.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has an understanding or interest in issues affecting adults and children impacted by domestic abuse, VAWG, and/or homelessness
- Has experience in policy development and evidence-based commissioning
- Understands contract management and performance monitoring
- Has experience of developing and implementing projects efficiently, aligning with MOPAC priorities
- Can build strong relationships and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including the GLA, to achieve programme objectives
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
