We study London’s population to assess the effects that different policies have. We identify trends and patterns of crime and disorder in London. We provide tools, training and advice to London’s local authorities, the GLA and its functional bodies on the Census. We regularly estimate the size and characteristics of the future resident population of London. We offer projections of the number of pupils who will be at schools in the future, to help school place planners.

The Survey of Londoners was a research study commissioned by the Mayor of London. The study helps us understand the lives of people living in London and, in particular, the 2021-22 survey showed how London had changed after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
