London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s fire and rescue service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city. Employing over 5000 people across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer 999 calls), fire safety and our non-operational team (our team who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, which includes Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications team and many more).
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our General Counsel’s Department. We’re looking for a positive, proactive and organised person to recruit as a Property Law Paralegal who shares our values, on a permanent contract.
The successful candidate will undertake Property law work on our portfolio of 103 operational fire stations, Headquarters and Control buildings and ancillary land holdings to support the Property Law Unit Manager as detailed in the Job Description attached. This is a majority commercial property estate with a small number of licensed residential properties for staff. The role will comprise a mixture of administrative support work and a standalone caseload of property matters.
We are looking for a person with experience as a Property Law Paralegal and will require details of work undertaken to date to evidence this. We have no formal qualifications baseline requirement so will consider candidates with or without legal degrees or diplomas.

Eligibility
No specific qualifications required, merely experience as a Property Law Paralegal.
Assessment Overview
Stage 1
1. Experience of work as a Property Law Paralegal in commercial property matters.
2. Experience of working in a law firm or public sector legal environment.
3. IT skills and use of electronic case management systems.
4. Administrative support experience.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend stage 2.

Criminal records check
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a Standard criminal records check.
