London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s fire and rescue service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city. Employing over 5000 people across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer 999 calls), fire safety and our non-operational team (our team who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, which includes Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications team and many more).
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join the Payroll Team at the London Fire Brigade.
The Role
Based in the Payroll team you will predominately work with the team to deliver the monthly payroll and associated services. You will also be required to provide support for changes and improvements to systems, processes and procedures as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the payroll system database is regularly updated in relation to payroll and pension information including processing starters, leavers and other pay changes.
- Dealing with e-mails, phone calls and face to face queries from employees, other departments and external organisations efficiently and with a high level of customer care.
- Keeping up to date with pay information including policies, regulations and pay awards.
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the Payroll Team by undertaking administrative duties when required and providing support and cover for other team members.
- Ensuring confidentiality and security of data are maintained at all times.
Qualifications
Applicants must be CIPP qualified or a similar qualification or pursuing a payroll qualification.
