About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will support the production of LEVC vehicles, maintaining the equipment and processes. Ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and safe as well as implementing continuous improvements (CI/Kaizen).
- Support manufacturing with all responsive breakdown remediation to ensure the continued operation of the facility.
- Day-to-day upkeep and repair of various electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Carry out PPM schedules on all plant and equipment.
- Review and modify PPMs as necessary to ensure full effectiveness.
- Providing a full support service to the Manufacturing Engineering Department with new equipment procurement and installation projects.
- Working closely with contractors to ensure all projects are carried out in compliance with all HSE requirements and legislative governance.
- To support and actively encourage the continuous development and improvement of all manufacturing processes and systems.
- Providing technical support to the Manufacturing Engineering Department and Operations to ensure continuous improvement activities are successful.
- Carry out diagnostic inspections and fault-finding investigations on various automated systems, including:
- Robot cells inclusive of dosing equipment
- Vision systems
- Robot modifications and programming to improve performance and/or efficiencies of processes
- AGVs
- EMS systems
- Conveyor systems
Experience to succeed
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field of engineering.
- Time-served apprenticeship in maintenance skills, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical principles, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems to NVQ level 3 minimum (or equivalent).
- Ideally PLC experience in fault finding and programming.
- Working on ABB robots, Siemens TIA PLC, SCA (Atlas Copco) glue dispensing systems, and conveyor systems (motors and drives).
- Good communication skills, fault-finding, and problem-solving abilities.
- Can work independently and within a team.
- Experience with automotive manufacturing or EVs is a bonus.
