About the role
As a Government Relations Coordinator at LEVC, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s public affairs strategy. You’ll be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with government and regulatory stakeholders, monitoring relevant policy developments, and ensuring LEVC’s interests are effectively represented at both national and local levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate LEVC\'s Government Relations activities, including assisting in planning and scheduling meetings with government officials, MPs and other stakeholders, and supporting in organising visits to LEVC sites from external political stakeholders.
- Monitor legislation and policy developments, tracking relevant local and national policy making and government initiatives, and summarising key developments and sharing with teams as needed.
- Maintain LEVC\'s relationships with key Government and regulatory contacts, and support the Managing Director and other senior members of the team with drafting communications or briefing materials for external outreach.
- Work with other departments across the business, including communications, legal, homologation, marketing to align LEVC messaging and positioning with regard to policy developments.
- Conduct research and analysis on political economic and regulatory trends impacting LEVC and the wider automotive industry as required.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in political science/public policy/ international relations/ law/ communications.
- 3+ years in a relevant role e.g. public affairs assistant, parliamentary aide or caseworker, lobbying firm, industry association or consultancy, or public sector.
- Valued sector experience: automotive, transport, energy or environmental policy is highly desirable. Experience in a complex, highly regulated industry would be useful.
- Understanding of EV policy, sustainable regulation is a plus.
- Understanding of political and legislative processes (national and local).
- Policy research and analysis skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Familiarity or interest in policy issues impacting the automotive industry e.g. emissions, EV transition, EV charging, manufacturing incentives.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with other teams as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word).
- Knowledge in public consultation or policy feedback portals (e.g. gov.uk).
