London East Alternative Provision (LEAP) is a highly successful, high-achieving, inner-city school, delivering transformative education to 265 young people of all ages from Primary through KS3, KS4 and to Post-16. Applications are invited from experienced, talented, hard-working and motivated individuals for the post of SENCO for our main provision in Stepney Green in Tower Hamlets.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with our leadership team in managing the school's systems for Special Educational and Additional Learning Needs.
- Collaborate with our Inclusion Lead and oversee the day-to-day support of some of our most vulnerable and challenging young people at LEAP.
- Support our staff in their awareness and understanding of our students' needs and inclusive approaches and strategies in teaching and learning.
- Oversee screening processes and manage the school's SEN cohort along with our existing SENCOs.
- Liaise with families and external agencies, share and support their understanding of a child's needs, set meaningful targets for joint working and review plans and provisions for our students' support.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the LEAP aims, values and ethos and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students, including those with complex behavioural and SEND needs.
