Are you an experienced Senior ER professional ready to lead with impact?
At the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), we’re a charitable social enterprise running 40+ nurseries across London. We’re committed to giving every child the best start in life, and our People & Culture team is critical in creating a positive and supportive workplace for our 900+ people.
We’re looking for a proven Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join us. You’ve already been operating at senior level, confidently handling complex ER issues and shaping ER approaches at your current or previous organisations. This is your opportunity to use that expertise to make a meaningful difference in an organisation with purpose.
We are seeking a Senior ER Advisor who loves being presented the challenge of complex issues and working together with managers to deliver positive outcomes. We don’t have a large caseload of issues, but it’s important for us to manage these with consistency and empathy for those involved and this role brings the opportunity to re-shape how we do ER across LEYF. We have policies, but you can reframe them to improve user experience and manager empowerment, supporting those involved with strong coaching practices to build confidence.
Why you’ll love it here
This Is a Rare Opportunity To Combine Your ER Expertise With Meaningful Work In An Organisation That Truly Values People. Here’s What’s In It For You

  • Make an impact. Your work will shape the experience of 900+ colleagues across London
  • Shape ER strategy. You’ll have the autonomy to influence policies and processes, driving real change
  • A rewarding benefits package, including:
  • Competitive salary
  • 7% employer pension contribution
  • 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • 70% childcare discount at our nurseries for your children or grandchildren
  • Access to wellbeing resources, shopping discounts, team events, and more

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is about more than just managing ER cases – it’s about shaping our approach to employee relations in a year where external factors will need shaping and implementing. You’ll:

  • Be the go-to expert on complex ER matters, bringing strong legislative knowledge and fair, empathetic solutions to every situation
  • Work with managers to navigate performance management, grievances, absence management disciplinaries and more with confidence and care
  • Coach and empower leaders to resolve issues, build stronger teams, and lead difficult conversations effectively
  • Lead on TUPE processes during acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and successful retention
  • Identify trends in ER cases and use them to drive improvements in policy, training, and processes
  • Revise and rewrite policies to ensure they’re simple, clear, and reflect our values
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building relationships across the organisation and promoting best practices

A word from our team
“This is a fantastic time for a Senior ER Advisor to join us. LEYF isn’t so big that you get lost, and the impact you’ll make will feel significant. You’ll find a positive culture and people ready for change.” — Daryle, HR Operations Manager
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior ER Advisor who brings:

  • Proven senior-level ER experience, including handling complex and sensitive cases, coaching managers, and advising on TUPE
  • A strong understanding of employment law and the confidence to provide pragmatic, fair solutions
  • The ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders with empathy and confidence
  • Excellent coaching skills to support and develop managers
  • A solution-focused approach and the curiosity to spot trends and propose improvements
  • Resilience, compassion, and a natural talent for building trusted relationships

If you’re ready to bring your expertise and leadership to an organisation with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
