Central to this is a strong, shared pedagogy that is lived and breathed across our organisation. That’s where our Pedagogy Coach comes in. This is a pivotal role supporting the high‑quality delivery of the LEYF Pedagogy across our nurseries.

You’ll work closely with nursery‑based teams and central colleagues to embed consistent, reflective and ambitious practice, aligned with LEYF’s values, philosophy and social enterprise approach. You’ll be a trusted coach, role model and critical friend – working on the floor alongside teams, designing and delivering meaningful professional learning, and translating research and policy into confident, high‑quality practice. What you’ll be doing

  • Embedding high‑quality pedagogy across nurseries
  • Support the continuous learning and development of nursery staff at all levels
  • Embed consistent practice by sharing, explaining and evaluating LEYF policies, procedures and pedagogical approaches
  • Translate research, theory and organisational priorities into practical, meaningful improvements in practice
  • Champion LEYF’s ambitions, values and social purpose in everyday pedagogical delivery

Coaching, modelling and developing practice

  • Provide tailored coaching to educators at all stages of their careers
  • Work on the floor alongside nursery teams to demonstrate and role‑model best practice
  • Support reflective practice through observation, feedback and professional dialogue
  • Build confidence and capability within teams to sustain high‑quality pedagogy

Designing and delivering professional learning

  • Design and deliver engaging workshops, training sessions and learning resources
  • Adapt learning approaches to meet the needs of different nurseries and teams
  • Evaluate the impact of training and coaching to ensure continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development of organisational learning programmes

Working collaboratively across LEYF

  • Cultivate strong professional relationships with nursery teams and central office colleagues
  • Act as a pedagogical partner to Nursery Managers and leadership teams
  • Share learning, insights and best practice across the organisation
  • Support a culture of collaboration, curiosity and continuous improvement

Staying current and research‑informed

  • Stay up to date with current pedagogical research and sector developments
  • Incorporate evidence‑based best practice into coaching and training
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the LEYF Pedagogy

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Has the right experience and qualifications
  • Degree in Early Years (or working towards a degree)
  • Strong background in early years education and practice
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of educators
  • Confident applying pedagogical theory and research in practice
