The Department Manager, Cosmetics is responsible for directing cosmetic department employees to maintain merchandising, customer service, and operational standards within the department. The manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling, payroll, and ongoing training and development of staff. The position leads the department towards achieving company goals, including financial benchmarks in sales, inventory control, and payroll.
This is a customer-service-focused role that requires extensive daily customer contact. The manager must work effectively in a fast paced environment while delivering quality service in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.
Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of three years of retail management experience, but candidates without management experience who meet the other qualifications may also be considered.
Required skills and experience include:
- Extensive knowledge of cosmetic products
- Strong merchandising skills and creative display abilities
- Professional sales experience
- Leadership, supervisory delegation, and sound organizational skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to achieving company objectives
The manager must be able to follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, and standards, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, employees, and upper management.

Work Schedule: Employees will be scheduled 40 hours per week on a flexible schedule, Monday through Sunday, for day and evening shifts. From time to time, the position may require transfer between stores or to other locations depending on organizational needs and career development opportunities. The employee is responsible for transportation.
