Medical Welfare Officer

Salary Scale: Scale 3, points 5-6. Actual salary £25,553 - £25,918 for 37.5 hours per week, term-time. Start date: ASAP.

Overview

As part of our caring, compassionate approach, we are seeking an organised and proactive Medical Welfare Officer to support the health, safety and wellbeing of our students.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the school's Medical Welfare Room.
  • Provide first aid to students and staff.
  • Maintain medical records and accident/incident records.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of student health provision across the school.
  • Liaise with parents, healthcare professionals and staff for best possible care and safeguarding.
  • Coordinate vaccination programmes.
  • Manage medical supplies and ensure compliance with school policies and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Calm, compassionate, highly organised.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to both routine and urgent situations.
