We’re expanding our Newcastle office and again taking on new Trainee Protection Advisers. With a start date of the 14th July 2025, we’ll coach and teach everything you need to know to flourish within the industry, supporting your growth and development whilst protecting our customers.

The role involves offering L&C customers a sense of reassurance by protecting the things that matter most: their homes, families and lifestyles. You will use your empathetic ear to listen to their concerns and deliver the right kind of insurance, advising them on options such as Critical Illness Insurance, Income Protection and Life Insurance.

It is important to deliver outstanding customer care, regulatory adherence and impressive workload efficiency to exceed performance targets and KPIs. This will be achieved through attention to detail, a warm and friendly approach that builds rapport and trust, and understanding each customer’s needs.

As L&C is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), compliance is an important part of this role. You need to ensure you deliver advice within strictly defined regulatory rules and guidance, as well as adhering to the internal quality standards L&C has put in place.

Your background employment within sales and customer service has helped you hone your listening skills and develop a sense of empathy. You are looking to push your career to the next level, working hard for personal and professional development.

You’ll have developed great people and sales skills already in a similar role within finance or possibly within a different sector. You’ll have a real interest in money matters, motivation to deliver perfect outcomes, and organisational skills to make the most of your bonus opportunities.

Why join L&C? We care about our customers, but our employees are what make the magic happen. Working with us means being part of an environment of respect and equity. The standard of training is high, so that the service you deliver is at the same level. There are ample opportunities to flourish and progress.

  • Opportunities to gain an R05 qualification, upon passing the exam becoming a certified expert
  • Be a part of an incentive scheme that is both customer-centric and reflective of your efforts
  • Access to our comprehensive Employee benefit and support schemes
  • Come celebrate at our biannual Winter and Summer socials, and plenty of other events throughout the year.
