Looking for more than just a job? Ready to earn while you learn? This is your chance to build a serious career in financial services with one of the UK’s leading mortgage brokers. At L&C Mortgages, we don’t just offer roles—we develop future advisers and lucrative careers. If you’re ambitious, motivated, and ready to put in the work, you’ll be supported every step of the way to become a fully qualified Mortgage Adviser with strong earning potential and long-term progression.
With a start date of the 3rd August 2026, based at our bustling Newcastle office, this is your chance to step into a structured and genuinely rewarding career. But let’s be clear from the off: it takes focus, resilience, and hard work to succeed. If that excites you, you’ll fit right in. This isn’t a quick win or an easy ride—but if you’re driven, the rewards are real.
What You’ll Be Doing
Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions someone will ever make, and this role puts you right at the centre of it. As a Trainee Mortgage Adviser, you’ll:
- Speak with customers to understand their needs and goals
- Research and recommend mortgage solutions tailored to them and their needs
- Learn how to balance great customer outcomes with strict regulatory standards
- Build trust and long-term relationships with clients
- Develop the confidence to guide people through complex financial decisions
You’ll start by learning the foundations, but quickly progress to handling your own cases as your knowledge grows.
What We’re Looking For
We’re not expecting finished advisers, this is a trainee role after all! But we are looking for potential and a driven, can do attitude. You might be early in your career, currently in a customer-facing or sales role, and ready to step up into something bigger. You’ll need to be:
- Ambitious - you want a career, not just a payslip
- Resilient - this is a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Hardworking - as your effort directly impacts your earning potential
- Confident & personable - able to build rapport quickly and effectively with clients
- Organised - able to manage multiple cases and priorities well
- Eager to learn - committed to mastering a complex industry
Experience in financial services is a bonus—but not essential.
What You’ll Get in Return
We take your development seriously, and we make sure your effort is recognised.
- Full inhouse training programme with a proven track record of success
- Support to achieve your CeMap qualification and become a certified expert
- Clear progression pathways and excellent earning potential
- 24 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
- Access to our comprehensive benefit provider Perkbox (discounts, wellbeing support & more)
- Recognition schemes like “The Extra Mile” awards within L&C, or even one day industry awards
- Regular social events (Summer & Winter company wide parties + much more)
Due to structured training schedules, we are unable to offer alternative start dates. We appreciate it may be a while to wait, but we will process any successful candidates within plenty of time, nearer to the start date. Please only apply if you are available to start on 3rd August 2026.
