The Role
Youâll know firsthand how mortgaging or remortgaging a property can be a daunting experience for first-time and experienced buyers alike. Getting the right deal is a crucial factor in putting home buyersâ and homeownersâ minds at ease. Luckily for them, thatâs exactly where you come in. From starter homes to investment properties, youâll be there on the end of the phone with the kind of advice that makes property dreams come true.
Youâll scope out the best mortgage options through listening to customersâ stories and circumstances, fully documenting these with the help of L&Câs technology and coming up with a solution that meets their needs and satisfies regulatory rules and standards as you go. We expect a quality and compliant service for our customers and this performance will be monitored.
Will they be best served by a fixed-term or variable mortgage? Do they need the option to overpay each month? What about fee free early exit? Once you have a clear idea of what they need, itâs all about rolling up your sleeves and giving it your all so that we can provide the customer with the right advice and outcome, getting them the best possible deal. By doing all this, youâll demonstrate L&C values, our passion for mortgages and why our customers were right to choose us.
Of course there will be administrative work along the way but, above all, itâs about building that rapport and a real sense of trust that youâre going to do everything you can to deliver a compliant deal that really works for the customer.

L&C will be required to attest to your integrity, competence and financial soundness on an initial and regular basis if youâre successful in your application and as a âCertification Regimeâ employee, your personal and professional details will be published in the FCAâs Directory which is accessible to the public. This can provide comfort to customers that they are dealing with a legitimate and monitored Adviser that belongs to a firm with a solid culture and ethics. Youâll also be personally subject to the 5 FCA Conduct Rules at all times.
About You
Our customer service standard is paramount, and as an experienced and qualified Mortgage Advisor youâll need to apply your industry knowledge and output a sense of empathy that customers can really pick up when they talk to you. Weâre looking for people who can really connect with customers and provide top standard advice, while following the FCA guidelines and internal procedures that keep us in line with our industryâs regulatory framework.
