Fun, rewarding and with the opportunity to develop and grow your career. That’s life with L&C Mortgages, the UK’s leading fee free mortgage and protection broker with over 160 awards to its name. Join us and you’ll be part of a business that takes your progress seriously and wants you to enjoy being part of the L&C family.

The role involves mortgaging or remortgaging a property, providing crucial advice to home buyers and homeowners. You will scope out the best mortgage options by listening to customers’ stories and circumstances, documenting these with the help of L&C’s technology, and coming up with solutions that meet their needs while satisfying regulatory rules and standards.

We expect a quality and compliant service for our customers, and this performance will be monitored. You will need to determine whether customers are best served by a fixed-term or variable mortgage, if they need the option to overpay each month, or if they require a fee-free early exit.

Administrative work is part of the role, but building rapport and trust with customers is paramount. You will demonstrate L&C values and our passion for mortgages.

L&C is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and classified as an “Enhanced Firm” under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role falls into the “Certification and Conduct” elements of the regime. If successful, your integrity, competence, and financial soundness will be attested to on an initial and regular basis. As a “Certification Regime” employee, your personal and professional details will be published in the FCA’s Directory.

About you: We are looking for candidates with customer service experience and a strong work ethic. You should have honed listening skills and developed empathy that customers can sense. Organising and prioritising skills are essential for productivity and results without compromising quality of care. Solid IT skills and a team-focused approach are also necessary.

Why join L&C? Working at L&C means being part of an environment steeped in respect and equity. The standard of training is high, ensuring the service you deliver is top-notch. There are ample opportunities to progress.

Joining L&C means having the chance to:

  • Enrol on an in-depth induction programme, with a proven track record of success
  • Gain a CeMap, LIBF qualification upon passing the exam and become a mortgage expert.
