The role will play a key part in supporting and leading the delivery of IT and business-related projects, working closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Reporting to the Transformation Programme Manager, you will collaborate with Product Owners, development teams, and senior leaders to ensure successful project delivery that aligns with business goals, within agreed timeframes and budgets.
You will assist project sponsors in defining project scope, objectives, and success criteria, while developing and maintaining critical project documentation such as project initiation documents, plans, resource schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk registers using established PMO templates. You will be responsible for ensuring that all governance and reporting requirements are met, including the preparation of materials for Stage Gate Reviews, Steering Committees, and Architecture Review Boards.
A key part of your role will be to identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring continuous tracking and mitigation through appropriate systems and tools. You'll create clear metrics to monitor project progress, reporting regularly to stakeholders and adapting plans as required. Using a mix of project methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Lean, you'll deliver initiatives from business case development through to implementation and business readiness.
The role involves managing multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously, supporting both customer-facing and back-office applications, and ensuring effective collaboration between IT and business teams.
About you: We're looking for a seasoned Project Manager who can come in and hit the ground running. You'll bring proven experience in managing IT and business transformation projects, ideally within a finance or similar regulated environment. You'll have strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience working across Agile, Waterfall and traditional project delivery methods is essential, alongside a solid understanding of risk management, budgeting, and governance. Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, AMP, or Agile qualifications are desirable.
