Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Your Role

As Programme Lead/Course Director, you will lead and manage the Hospitality Management programme, focusing on curriculum design, teaching quality, and student progression. You will oversee course teams, ensure a high-quality student experience, and maintain strong industry engagement to keep the programme career-relevant and innovative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and quality assurance of the Hospitality Management programme.
  • Manage course teams, timetabling, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic and pastoral support.
  • Drive student retention, progression, and employability.
  • Develop and maintain strong industry partnerships.
  • Support staff recruitment, development, and performance management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and quality assurance activities at the College.
  • Participate in teaching and operational duties, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong pedagogical knowledge and understanding of HE sector requirements.
  • Industry experience in hospitality, events, or tourism.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage academic teams.
  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery focused on student success.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching.
  • Data-driven approach to improving outcomes.
  • Recognised authority in hospitality, events, or tourism.
  • Experience developing and growing academic teams.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience teaching and leading in Higher Education.
  • Proven record of student success and course management.
  • Engagement with research or professional industry practice.
  • Experience in staff recruitment and development.
  • Degree and relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to gain HEA Fellowship.
  • PhD or equivalent research background is a plus.
