Position

As Course Director, you’ll oversee the performance and quality of a degree programme. You’ll lead a team of academics, develop engaging curriculum, and create a collaborative learning culture. You’ll bring strong teaching experience and be ready to inspire students from a range of backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of the course
  • Lead course team meetings, assessments, exam boards, and planning
  • Ensure smooth delivery across all modes (weekday, evening, weekend)
  • Coordinate with colleagues on admissions, timetabling, induction, and recruitment
  • Support academic staff development and lead student retention efforts
  • Design and update curriculum aligned to industry trends and student needs
  • Lead validation, accreditation, and cross‑disciplinary teaching development
  • Embed employability and inclusive practice throughout the course

Teaching & Learning

  • Oversee teaching strategy and delivery across the course
  • Apply experiential and reflective learning methods
  • Use digital platforms and tools to enhance learning
  • Deliver engaging, student‑centred sessions

Quality Assurance

  • Produce course monitoring reports and drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor student progress and ensure high‑quality outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with OFS, regulatory and partner expectations

Requirements

Qualifications

  • BA and Postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Fellowship (or higher) of the Higher Education Academy
  • Desirable: PhD or PGCert (or willingness to complete one at LCCA)
