Lead and shape the future of business education. We are looking for an exceptional Course Director for Business Management (Levels 5-7) to provide academic leadership, drive curriculum excellence and ensure outstanding student outcomes. This is a key leadership role for an experienced academic who is passionate about teaching, innovation and student success.

You will lead the development, delivery and performance of programmes across Levels 5 to 7, ensuring they remain academically rigorous, industry-relevant and aligned with the evolving needs of students and employers. You will also lead and inspire a team of lecturers and subject specialists, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.

The Role
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Business Management programmes at Levels 5-7
  • Lead and manage the course team, including subject leads, lecturers and hourly-paid staff
  • Oversee programme delivery, teaching quality and assessment design
  • Drive curriculum innovation and continuous improvement
  • Monitor student engagement, progression and attainment
  • Lead course committees, examination boards and programme reviews
  • Produce annual course monitoring reports and action plans
  • Ensure compliance with higher education quality and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support recruitment, admissions, timetabling and induction
  • Maintain strong industry and professional body connections to keep the curriculum current
  • Support student retention, achievement and progression
Essential
  • A relevant undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Experience teaching Business or related subjects in Higher Education
  • Experience leading academic programmes or teams
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment and quality assurance in Higher Education
  • Experience supporting diverse and widening participation student groups
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
Desirable
  • PhD or higher research degree
  • Fellowship (or higher) of the Higher Education Academy
  • PGCert in Higher Education or recognised teaching qualification
