The Management Accountant / Finance Analyst will take ownership of month end and weekly tasks and assist Finance Business Partners in ad-hoc analysis and budgeting/forecasting.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, and clear variance analysis vs budget and prior periods.
- Assist in the production of weekly reporting.
- Assist the Finance BP’s to produce reliable, well-explained forecasts with documented assumptions, highlighting key risks, opportunities, and drivers of change.
- Provide quality ad-hoc analysis that turns financial data into clear, commercially useful insights for stakeholders.
- Improve processes and reporting, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce manual work.
- Timely period end closing including posting of prepayments, accruals and correction journal.
- Assist Finance Business Partners with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ability to clearly communicate variances vs budget and forecast.
- Actively working towards improving processes.
Experience and Personal Attributes
- A degree of experience in a commercial facing role within finance.
- Evidence of month end, budgeting and forecasting.
- Skilled in excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to identify and proactively solve problems.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Ability to assist in month end close including posting of pre-payments, accruals and other journal postings.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent.
- Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
- A strong working knowledge of financial systems/data warehouses.
