London Business School is recruiting a permanent Lead Solution Architect to join the Technology team.
The role sets the technical direction for software development, establishes and maintains architectural standards, and ensures alignment with best practices and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architectural design and implementation of software solutions, ensuring adherence to modern design patterns and standards.
- Drive adoption of cloud‑native, modular, and adaptable services, focusing on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight across internally developed products and externally sourced SaaS applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into well‑architected solutions and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Support development of technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and technical roadmaps in partnership with the Director of Strategy and Architecture.
- Champion best practices in software development, foster a culture of excellence, and mentor engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Significant industry experience in solution architecture/software engineering across multiple technologies, languages, and frameworks.
- Experience architecting cloud‑native enterprise applications with Microsoft Azure – certification such as Azure Solution Architect or equivalent preferred.
- Experience designing highly scalable and distributed cloud‑based micro‑services and event‑driven integrations.
- Experience designing and developing enterprise applications using C# and the .NET framework.
- Experience with modern web application frameworks, practices, and technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing composable architectures that enable modular, scalable, and API‑first solutions in cloud‑native environments.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and act as a design authority.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical details to a wide variety of audiences.
