Responsibilities
- Delivering lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops according to validated programme specifications.
- Ensuring inclusive teaching practices and adapting materials for diverse student needs.
- Using digital platforms like VLEs and MS Teams to enhance learning and communication.
- Designing, delivering, and marking assessments in accordance with QAA‑assured standards and Pearson requirements.
- Providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning progression.
- Providing academic guidance and pastoral support, including monitoring and supporting students with Learning Support Plans.
- Engaging in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and scholarly activity to maintain up‑to‑date subject knowledge and pedagogical practice.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a UK Master\’s degree (Level 7) or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in teaching or supporting students in a UK Higher Education environment.
- Experience using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs, Moodle , MS Teams etc) and digital delivery tools.
- Familiarity with UK HE quality standards (QAA, OfS, Pearson BTEC).
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance (if not already held).
Ideal candidate profile
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGCHE) or a willingness to work towards one.
- HEA Fellowship or a willingness to work towards it.
- Experience in academic assessment and moderation.
- Knowledge of curriculum design and assessment frameworks.
- A proactive and solution‑focused approach to challenges.
