The Wellington Hospital is looking for an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner – Recovery to join our outstanding Theatre Department. As the largest private hospital in the UK, our theatres provide a vibrant, fast‑paced and highly specialised environment, supported by state‑of‑the‑art technology and an exceptional multidisciplinary team.

The Wellington Hospital delivers world‑class care across key specialties including neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care. With 11 theatres across three buildings, you’ll be part of one of the most advanced and diverse surgical services in the country, working alongside highly skilled colleagues and leading consultants.

We have a strong track record of supporting career development, offering clear progression pathways and opportunities to broaden your clinical expertise. As a Senior Recovery Theatre Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in the post‑operative phase, ensuring safe, high‑quality and responsive care for patients emerging from anaesthesia. You will use your advanced clinical judgement to monitor vital signs, manage pain, support airway management, and ensure a smooth and safe transition from surgery to full consciousness.

What you’ll bring:

  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration
  • Significant experience in Recovery Nursing, ideally within a complex acute hospital setting and with a neuro and spinal background
  • Exposure to Senior Theatre Practitioner responsibilities, such as supporting junior staff, contributing to service improvement, and demonstrating strong clinical leadership
  • A solid understanding of theatre safety, governance and best practice standards
