Shift times: 8:00am – 8:30pm and 8:00pm – 8:30am
Hours: 31.25 per week (part-time)
Pattern: Mixture of nights and weekends, with flexibility required to work across seven days

We’re now looking for an experienced and passionate Outreach Nurse to join our Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) – a dedicated team that plays a vital role in safeguarding patient wellbeing across the hospital. This is your chance to be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team that makes a real difference every day. You’ll be at the forefront of patient safety, supporting ward staff, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the highest standards of care for patients at risk of deterioration.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver a nurse-led Outreach Service 24/7, providing expert support to patients who are acutely unwell or deteriorating.
- Monitor patients transferred from ITU to wards, identify deterioration, and advise if patients need to return to ITU.
- Work alongside ward teams to educate, mentor, and optimise patient care.
- Be a key member of the hospital resuscitation team, responding to peri/cardiac arrests and major haemorrhage events.
- Support the safe transfer of patients from lower acuity wards to HDU or ITU.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC pin
- At least 3 years’ experience in critical or acute care
- Specialist skills in Neuro, Cardiac, or General ITU/HDU
- Completion of a Critical Care Course (60 credits)
- A motivated, forward-thinking professional with excellent communication, time management, and prioritisation skills
