We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Wellington Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work. What you’ll do:
- Maintaining, servicing and testing various electrical and mechanical plants such as AHUs, Air Conditioning Systems, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm Systems and Generators.
- To ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and to adhere to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
- Be the main point of contact for all engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
- Carry out PPM’s and daily checks of plant area, ensuring the area is well maintained, operational and tidy at all times.
- To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
- Carry out water management control measures as required by the Water Risk Assessment i.e. flushing and temperature monitoring.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Respond to, and complete incoming works logged on the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, ‘Engineering Central’, prioritising your workload, responding quickly to emergency maintenance and reactive maintenance as requested.
- Liaising with the Landlord Management team and co-ordinating any works affecting HCA demise, attending any update meetings as required.
- On site contractor management, reviewing RAMs and raising permits to work.
- To assist in projects as required.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ in plumbing or an engineering building services qualification.
- Good understanding of BMS Systems.
- Knowledge of Water Hygiene and Legionella Management.
- Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation.
- Health and Safety, COSHH.
- General knowledge of Fire regulations.
- Excellent customer care and communication skills.
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
