Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide visible, inspiring nursing leadership shaping the development of nursing practice and ensuring the highest standards of patient care across the hospital.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams with professionalism and integrity, creating a culture where safety, quality and continuous improvement thrive.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the hospital and support departmental leaders in meeting their operational and financial goals.
- Drive excellence in patient safety, patient experience and service quality, supported by effective monitoring systems aligned to local, corporate and national standards.
- Maintain NMC registration and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, confidentiality requirements and the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Lead on workforce development, ensuring the recruitment, retention and education of skilled nursing staff, fostering teamwork, and cultivating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee clinical governance, quality and risk management, ensuring robust risk frameworks are in place.
- Lead investigations into incidents and complaints, drive improvements from clinical audit, and ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and insurance standards.
Skills and experience required:
- Registered Nurse – Level 1 with valid NMC registration.
- Experience at Senior Management Level.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong communication skills.
