Specialist Biomedical Scientist – Haematology & Biochemistry – London Bridge Hospital Lab. Fixed Term Contract – 14 months. Full Time, Monday-Friday with some weekend cover required. Salary: Competitive. Shift timings include 0730 am – 4pm, 8am – 4.30pm, 10.30am – 7pm and 12.30pm – 9pm.
We’re looking for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Sciences Laboratory at London Bridge Hospital. You will be trained in a multi-disciplinary analytical role to enable the provision of an efficient 24-hour pathology service for laboratory users. Full training will be provided for Sample Reception, Haematology and Biochemistry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Expected to work in Haematology and Biochemistry and cover Specimen Reception as required, which would include supporting with the running of the departments, validation, document control, stock management, participation in the compilation of data required for various meetings and keeping maintenance records up to date.
- Speedy and accurate processing of samples.
- Interpretation, validation and timely reporting of results.
- Assist the Service lead with the day to day running of the Pathology department.
- Ensure equipment are in good working order.
- Liaise and assist specimen Reception and other sections within the laboratory.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
- Follow HCA policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience
- HCPC Registered.
- Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
- Evidence of continual personal development.
- Multidisciplinary experience in Blood Sciences.
