We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced dosimetrist to join our multi‑disciplinary London Bridge Hospital Radiotherapy team based at Guy's Hospital. Reporting to the Lead Dosimetrist across our London facilities, the post holder will line‑manage a team of dosimetrists at London Bridge Hospital Radiotherapy, ensuring the accuracy and precision of all treatment planning procedures, supporting training, and assisting in the development of protocols with close collaboration with physicists and the Radiotherapy team.
Responsibilities
- Line‑manage and provide professional support for a team of dosimetrists, managing workflow through treatment planning to meet expected turnaround times and clinical deadlines.
- Maintain relationships with clinical oncologists and deliver expert knowledge in producing complex treatment plans for all applicable treatment sites.
- Act as the subject‑matter expert on new and advanced treatment planning techniques and explore opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
- Provide and support training to the dosimetry team and other staff members.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g., Radiotherapy, Radiography, Physics, or Clinical Technology).
- Registration relevant to professional background (HCPC, AHCS, or route to registration with RCT).
- Extensive experience in radiotherapy treatment planning and checking.
- Experience working in a clinical environment as a treatment planner and plan checker.
- Experience with Eclipse TPS and Aria OIS.
- Experience planning stereotactic treatments for linacs.
- Practical experience with radiotherapy equipment (linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and dosimetry).
