We’re looking for an Ultrasound Manager to join our Imaging team at The Portland Hospital. You’ll work across two outpatient sites on Great Portland Street and Wimpole Street, supporting a service that combines specialist expertise with patient‑centred care. This is a leadership role where your direction shapes how ultrasound services are delivered, experienced and continuously improved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of ultrasound services across two outpatient sites.
  • Deliver high-quality ultrasound examinations and autonomous clinical reports.
  • Manage, support and develop a team of sonographers, including performance, rotas and appraisals.
  • Drive quality, governance and audit activity, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with imaging leaders and stakeholders to develop and improve services.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in sonography, including obstetrics, gynaecology and general ultrasound.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing clinical teams.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound.
  • HCPC, NMC or equivalent professional registration.
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication skills and ability to manage complex cases.
