Clinical Case Manager – experienced in paediatrics and adults
London, The Wellington Hospital
This role is based fully on site. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, with a choice of 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm. Permanent contract. Salary: Competitive.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission.
- Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care.
- Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and coordinated care and discharge decisions.
- Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication.
Qualifications
- Registered with the NMC as an Adult Nurse, with substantial post‑registration experience and demonstrable exposure to paediatric care.
- Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across both adult and paediatric services is essential—candidates must have hands‑on clinical experience in both settings, not one or the other.
- Strong background in inpatient nursing or, alternatively, significant experience within the healthcare insurance sector in a clinical or case management role.
- Senior-level clinical experience, typically at Band 6 or above (or equivalent), with demonstrable clinical leadership, service coordination, team supervision and/or management responsibilities.
- Proven ability to lead complex clinical decision‑making, influence multidisciplinary teams and coordinate care across multiple stakeholders.
