We’re looking for an experienced Senior ITU Nurse to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ITU) at The Harborne Hospital, HCA Healthcare UK’s 4th NHS Joint Venture. Purpose-built with both patients and colleagues in mind, The Harborne Hospital is a 50-bed, multi-specialty private hospital offering advanced clinical infrastructure, exceptional technology, and modern facilities. We deliver full clinical pathways across specialties including Cardiology, Cancer Care, and Complex Surgery.
As a Senior Staff Nurse in our 6-bedded Critical Care Unit, you’ll work alongside leading consultants from the Birmingham area, caring for patients who have undergone Cardiothoracic Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Neuro and Spinal Surgery, and Colorectal Robotic Surgery. You’ll play a key role in a close-knit, supportive team of established ITU Nurses who value collaboration, fairness, and professional growth. With guidance from two Charge Nurses and an experienced Line Manager, you’ll have the autonomy to take charge and lead shifts confidently.
The ideal candidate will have in-charge experience and a strong background in a Cardiac ITU setting, with the clinical confidence to manage complex cases and support junior colleagues.
What you’ll bring:
- NMC Registration as a qualified nurse in the UK
- Cardiac ITU experience, with confidence managing high-acuity patients
- In-charge experience, demonstrating leadership in critical care
- Extensive background in Critical Care, ideally across multiple specialties
- Critical Care Course with 60 ITU Credits
