We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Assistant Head Teacher to join our strong and supportive Senior Leadership Team at St Mary’s School. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated leader who is committed to making a lasting impact. You will be an exceptional classroom practitioner with substantial leadership experience and a deep understanding of what drives outstanding teaching and learning. Your leadership will be positive, professional and enthusiastic, playing a vital role in maintaining high standards across all phases. You will have a proven track record of initiating, developing and implementing impactful initiatives that have led to measurable improvements in pupil outcomes, staff development and whole-school performance.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Significant experience teaching across KS1 and KS2, with substantial Year 6 experience essential
- Experience teaching a year group with statutory assessments (e.g. EYFS, Phonics Screening, KS1 or KS2 SATs)
- Confident analysing and interpreting data to drive school improvement and raise pupil outcomes
- Evidence of whole-school leadership, with clear impact on standards beyond your own classroom
- Holds, or is working towards, a relevant NPQ (e.g. NPQSL or NPQLT) – desirable but not essential
- Shared, developed and initiated your own initiatives in your school with significant outcomes and proven impact
- Is a confident, creative and outstanding classroom practitioner
- Can inspire and lead by example
- Is enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to develop further
- Possesses a detailed understanding of pedagogy and is skilled at developing others
- Has experience leading and motivating teams
- Communicates effectively with colleagues, parents and the wider community
- Thinks strategically, solves problems imaginatively, and takes initiative
- Supports our Christian ethos and is committed to nurturing our church-school partnership
