The Permanence Social Worker provides short‑term maternity cover within the Permanence and Post Order Support Team. The role includes assessment and support of children and young people, ensuring assessments are completed to a high standard and within court timelines, safeguarding children, and maintaining accurate case records.
Responsibilities
- Hold a caseload of assessments and support cases in Permanence and Post Order
- Ensure viability, regulation, connected person, and SGO assessments are completed to a high standard within court timelines
- Safeguard children and young people and achieve the best possible outcomes
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and guidance
- Provide professional advice and case‑related guidance to social workers and other professionals
- Attend and contribute to Practice Support Group meetings
- Serve kinship carers by delivering support services and kinship assessments
- Apply relevant social work theories and models in practice and guidance
- Carry out duties with awareness of safeguarding requirements
Qualifications
- Professional registration with Social Work England
- Experience completing viability, regulation, connected person, and SGO assessments
- Knowledge of fostering, connected carers, and special guardianship area
- Fluent spoken English with confidence and accuracy
