Science Technician Required ASAP

Contract type: Permanent

Salary details: Scale NJC 4 point 7-11 £30,288 - £32,070 pro rata per annum. Actual salary: £21,807 - £23,090 per annum.

Term Time Only - 5 days/30 hours per week – 8am to 3pm.

Kelmscott School is seeking to appoint a highly organised, enthusiastic and reliable Science Technician to support our busy and successful Science department. Working under the direction of the Head of Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by preparing equipment, materials and resources for practical lessons, ensuring apparatus is maintained in good working order, and assisting staff with demonstrations and classroom practical activities. The postholder will also provide administrative support to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department. In addition to their departmental responsibilities, the successful applicant will contribute to the wider work of the school, including supporting the delivery of First Aid and escorting students when required.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, professionalism and a strong work ethic, and who can remain positive, flexible and efficient in a fast-paced school environment. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, conscientious and have a sound knowledge of Science, alongside a commitment to supporting both students and staff.
