Overview

In this role you will lead the financial operations for Adult Social Care, focusing on Direct Payments, invoicing, and compliance with the Care Act 2014. You will manage multi-million budgets, guide service improvements, and provide high-level financial guidance to senior leaders. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic delivery of Adult Social Care financial operations with emphasis on compliance and stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee Direct Payments, Client & Provider Pay Runs, and Client Contributions for accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage budgets and expenditure to maximise value for money
  • Develop and implement policies and systems aligned with Care Act 2014
  • Lead risk management, compliance, and quality assurance to meet standards
  • Provide expert financial guidance to senior management, partners, and external bodies
  • Lead and develop staff to build a high-performing team focused on outcomes
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Handle complex, politically sensitive issues including recovery of surplus funds and billing discrepancies
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners; represent the service externally
  • Ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and audit compliance

Key requirements
