About The Role
- Provide financial support and advice to service managers in departments overseeing Public Realm, Culture and Community Safety.
- Support stakeholders with budget setting, monitoring of grants and year-end process.
- Business partnering to drive financial improvements across the directorate.
- Manage budgets for a wide range of services run by the Council, such as Arts, Parks and Events, Idea Stores, Leisure Centres and various neighbourhood safety initiatives.
- Line management of 2-3 team members.
About You
As a fully qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant with post qualification experience in a local government setting, you will leverage your expertise to enhance service efficiency and maximise value for money. You will have a track record of leveraging your expertise to enhance service efficiency and maximise value for money. Leading and motivating teams will be natural to you, empowering staff to achieve high standards while establishing credibility with Heads of Service, Corporate Directors, and key stakeholders. You will bring a solid understanding of financial management and regulatory frameworks, especially in the public sector. Your familiarity with the role of Local Authorities and the financial needs of these service areas, along with your knowledge of best practices in budget monitoring and control, make you a valuable asset.
