About Us

We are a small, experienced team of advisory teachers supporting the inclusion of children and young people in mainstream schools. The team was formed following a restructuring of the Language and Communication Team and the Specific Literacy Difficulties Team five years ago. We sit within the Learning Advisory Service (LAS), part of the wider SEN Services, and work closely with schools to ensure staff feel confident and skilled in supporting pupils with language and literacy difficulties.

The Role

We are seeking a well‑organised, highly skilled practitioner with excellent communication skills to join our team from September 2026, following the retirement of the current post holder. In this advisory role, you will deliver training on evidence‑based interventions, lead whole‑school INSET sessions on SLCN and literacy difficulties, and work in close partnership with other specialist teams across the borough and health services. You will be confident working in a diverse, multi‑cultural environment and ideally have experience across a broad age range. A strong commitment to inclusive practice, teamwork, and supporting colleagues is essential.

What We Offer

  • Main Scale / UPS at Inner London rates + TLR 2B (max) + SEN (min)
  • Potential equivalent full‑time earnings: £66,488 - £71,352 per annum
  • 0.6 FTE (3 days) with potential to increase hours from September 2027
  • Travel or essential car user allowance
  • Opportunity to work across a range of borough locations
