Found in zone 6 with good transport links in and out of London, Kingston is a vibrant and diverse university town which creates the rich sense of community shared across the borough and its residents. About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate

As part of this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Directing the Community Ranger team to ensure efficient delivery of practical duties, such as graffiti removal, while maintaining strong community support across the neighborhoods.
  • Managing internal and statutory reporting and analysis for the environment service.
  • Overseeing environment-related initiatives and projects that contribute to the Council's carbon reduction and recycling objectives.

We are seeking a proactive communicator who thrives on collaborating with colleagues and the community. While prior experience managing a small team is beneficial, we also welcome candidates with strong organizational and leadership capabilities. You must have a solid grasp of financial management, data, and performance reporting to ensure quality control and identify improvements. A passion for the natural environment and a commitment to serving Kingston’s communities are highly valued.

Reporting to the Corporate Head of Environment, this position leads a small team—including community rangers—to provide essential services for a safe, inclusive, and clean borough.
