Sutton College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Photography Tutor. The post holder will teach onsite at the college and ensure high-quality delivery through the implementation of quality assurance processes. They will support a vibrant curriculum, assist with curriculum development, personalised employment support and learner progression, and contribute to the college’s strategic goals, especially for priority groups under the Adult Skills Fund.

Salary Grade 7 (SCP 23 – 33) £28.55 – £35.05 (Inc. Holiday)

    • Photography Level 2 Certificate (NCFE) – Tue evenings 18:30-21:30 (8-Sep-26 to 8-Jun-27)
    • Photography – Beginners DSLR Creative Craft Entry Level 3 (NCFE) – 11-Sep-26 to 02-Oct-26 09:30-15:00
    • Photography – Using a DSLR Camera – Beginning your Career in Photography (NCFE) – 09-Oct-26 to 04-Dec-26 09:30-15:00
    • Photography Level 1 Award (NCFE) – 8-Jan-27 to 16-Apr-27 09:30-14:30
    • Photography – Creative Craft Level 2 Award (NCFE) – 23-Apr-27 to 16-Jul-27 09:30-14:30

You Will:

  • Ensure a safe and organised learning environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes skills development and confidence.
  • Engage learners by using a range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit a diverse range of learners.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning and development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Teaching in Adult Education or Further Education Post 16 college/training environment.
  • Experience teaching a range of levels in the subject area.
  • Experience of quality improvement processes which support and develop practice.

Professional Experience:

  • An appropriate teaching qualification for the Post 16 Sector (e.g. DET / Cert. Ed. or equivalent) and/or willingness to complete a Level 4 qualification within the first year of appointment.
  • A qualification in the subject specialism (to at least Level 4 e.g. HND, 1st Degree), or an in-depth knowledge and a minimum of three years’ substantial experience in the subject area you are applying for.
  • Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English & Mathematics.
