About the Role and our Ideal Candidate: The role is based at the Inclusion Centre and covers weekends and bank holidays – 10 am–2 pm. This can be a pressured role so the candidate should be a quick learner and work well under pressure. It would be desirable for the candidate to live locally and hold a clean, current driving licence.
You will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of all the services, following up on Meals on Wheels concerns and safeguarding, room set‑ups and managing your own caseload of applications meeting deadlines and setting up rooms for use.
The role covers the following responsibilities:
- Assessing applications against legislation
- Ability to multitask between different roles
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with customers and professionals
- Possess a ‘can do’ attitude and work effectively within a team
- Excellent IT skills and be quick to learn specific IT packages
- Report safeguarding concerns
- Carry out room/pool safety checks
About Us: Meals on Wheels provides a hot meal service for vulnerable residents in the borough and carries out a welfare check at the same time reporting back any concerns for the team to follow up on. You will be liaising with professionals to take referrals, report concerns and ensure the service is running smoothly. Meals on Wheels is an award winning team due to its work during covid.
Concessionary Travel covers the Blue Badge, Freedom Pass and Taxicard services which involves assessing applications against legislation. You will manage your own caseload whilst meeting deadlines within the team's KPIs.
The facilities role for the Inclusion Centre will include front of house, room set up, room and pool checks to ensure the services running from the Inclusion Centre do so safely and report back any health and safety concerns.
