Join our Specialist Public Health Service, covering Cheam and South Sutton, Carshalton, Wallington, and Central Sutton. Our Health Visiting and School Nursing teams are dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families, with a focus on school readiness, mental health and well-being, and enhancing SEND provision. We proudly deliver the Healthy Child Programme for children aged 0 to 19, providing a comprehensive range of support to families in our community.

Main duties of the job:

  • We are looking for a passionate and proactive Health Visitor who shares our commitment to improving health outcomes for children and families in Sutton.
  • You will work closely with the Head of Service to deliver the strategic vision for children's services, fostering collaboration between Health and Local Authority partners to achieve the best results.
  • You will bring a strong commitment to empowering families, enabling them to take responsibility for their health through education, support, and community-based care.
  • Your practice will be guided by the four principles of health visiting: Searching for health needs and Facilitating health-enhancing activities.

  • Deliver the Healthy Child Programme to Sutton's families with a focus on quality and impact.
  • Identify health needs early and provide tailored interventions to help children reach their full potential.
  • Ensure vulnerable children are supported with timely, effective care and interventions.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Experienced in working in partnership across professional boundaries.
  • Good understanding of the practice of safeguarding children and able to work autonomously with high levels of self-motivation and able to work in a team setting.

Qualifications:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered as either Nurse or Midwife with a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification.
  • Registered SCPHN Health Visitor.
